reach the finals, she defeated top seeded Serena Williams
and fifth-seeded Jelena Dokic.

Fobbs graduated from Grambling State University in 1973
with a health and physical education degree. He earned all-SWAC
and all-America honors as a senior for legendary coach Eddie
Robinson. An eighth-round draft choice of the Buffalo Bills,
Fobbs played professionally for the Canadian Football League's
Ottawa Rough Riders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He also played
for the Detroit Wheels and Birmingham Stallions in the United
States Football League. Before joining Texas A&M in
2003, he was at Alabama, where he worked with two of the
SEC's top running backs in Ahmaad Galloway and Santonio
Beard. The duo combined for 1,544 rushing yards and 10 TDs
as the Crimson Tide led the SEC in rushing (226.4) for the
first time since 1991 and 13th time in school history.
Yvette Giroud Head softball coach LSU In just one season at LSU, head coach Yvette Girouard
was able to accomplish something no other coach had been
able to do. After winning the SEC title for the third-straight
year, Girouard led the Tigers to their first appearance
in the Women's College World Series with a victory over
her former school, Louisiana-Lafayette, in the NCAA Regional
Championship game.For their accomplishments, she and assistant
coaches James DeFeo and Lori Osterberg were named the National
Fastpitch Coaches Association's National Coaching Staff
of the Year. She was also named the Coach of the Year by
the Southeastern Conference and earned her third-straight
Louisiana Sports Writers' Association Coach of the Year
honor.

One of the youngest head coaches in NCAA Division I history
with 400 career victories, Louisiana-Lafayette head coach
Tony Robichaux begins his eighth season as the Cajun skipper.
In 2002, he will become the youngest coach with 500 career
victories. With nine victories this season, Robichaux will
reach the 500-win plateau. Robichaux is married to the former
Colleen Dailey of Iota, La., and they are the parents of
three children, Ashley, Justin, and Austin. The family lives
in Crowley.
Nelson Stokley Southwestern Louisiana head coach
Nelson Stokley is in his 11th season at the Lafayette, La.-based
school. He has led USL to a winning record in each of the
last three seasons and in seven of the last 10. Before arriving
at USL in 1986, Stokley served as offensive coordinator
at Clemson where he won a national champion ship and Virginia
Tech. He was also an assistant coach at Louisiana State
after graduating from LSU in 1968. He was born in Kennedy,
Texas in March, 1944.
