The "I Can Wait" (ICW) youth awareness program
is designed to encourage America's youth to "Get The Facts
Before [They] Act." The ICW Charitable Foundation is
founded on the principle that if the youth of America are given
the right information with the proper motivation they will make
the right choices. This approach has proven to be more acceptable
in the "eyes" of today's youth because it encourages them
to do the right thing without taking away their ability to make
decisions for themselves.
Get The Facts
Pregnancy - More than 50% of teenage mothers raise their
children without the child's father.
Drugs/Alcohol - Over 75% of prison inmates are in jail because
of a drug or alcohol related offense.
Alcohol - Over 20% of all teenage drivers killed in car accidents
consumed alcohol prior to the accident.
Smoking - More people die from tobacco use than from AIDS,
car accidents and murders combined.
How Did We Get Here?
The inability to wait is a major reason why many of America's youth
find themselves in trouble. They are consumed with the idea of "have
fun now-think later." The "I Can Wait" campaign
is designed to encourage today's youth to wait until they get all
the facts before making decisions that have life threatening consequences:
unemployment, depression, poverty, illiteracy and death.

Criteria
for joining:
Must
be 17 years of age or younger.
Essay:
100 words expressing why you want to become a member of
the ICW Club.
Pay
$10 yearly membership dues.
Take
and sign the ICW pledge

Privileges:
Information:
You will receive information regarding drugs, alcohol, sex
and tobacco so that you may make an informed decision.
Membership
Card: provides ICW members with discounts at various retail
stores.
ICW
Apparel: You will receive an ICW T-shirt and wristband along
with an opportunity to purchase ICW caps, towels, etc.
Tickets:
Opportunity to win game-day tickets to sporting events,
concert tickets, theater tickets, and amusement park tickets.
ICW
Camp Meeting: Annual event where members can congregate
to meet and encourage one another to honor their ICW pledge.
Camp will feature ICW celebrity speakers and musicians.
Booger
Bucs: Opportunity to win "Booger Bucs" - a form
of money in the ICW club that will enable a club member
to purchase more ICW apparel and to increase his or her
chance of winning event tickets.
